Policies and Procedures at Sweethaven Resort

The following policies apply to all rental cottages.

  • You can make a reservation by calling us at 269-469-0332. We do not make reservations on line
  • Prices subject to change without notification
  • Check-in time starting Jan. 1, 2017 is 4 – 7 p.m. Eastern Time
  • Check-out time is promptly at 12 noon Eastern Time
  • Notification of late arrival is required
  • There is a $100 charge per person per night for every person over the maximum allotted, including children and babies
  • 2 night minimum on weekends and 3 night minimum on holidays unless otherwise specified
  • There is a 25% deposit on all Winter/Spring rentals between November 1st and May 22nd. There is a 50% deposit on all Summer/Fall rentals between May 23rd and October 31st
  • All deposits are due when a cottage is booked
  • You will pay for entire length of your reservation
  • There is a 6% Michigan Use Tax
  • Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express, as well as check or cash are accepted


ABOUT THE FACILITIES 

  • Bikes and other toys are available for your use in the Bike Shed. You must return them when you are finished
  • No smoking indoors, there are ashtrays on the porches, do not leave any doors open if you are on the porch smoking. If we smell cigarette smoke in the cottage you will be charged $50 for cleaning
  • No candles anywhere
  • There will be NO noise in the yard after 10 p.m. Eastern Time  
  • Please leave your cottage in the condition you found it. Do the dishes and take out the garbage. Failure to do so will result in cleaning charges of $50 per hour
  • The cost of any damage to Sweethaven cottages or property will be reflected on your bill (charged to your credit card)
  • You will not hold Sweethaven or its owners responsible for any claim loss, expense or damage to any person or property in or upon the premises, or any area allocated to be used
  • We are happy to host family gatherings of all kinds, with the exception of prom or graduation parties or any event that would include underage drinking


CANCELLATION POLICY

  • There is a $50 charge on all cancellations
  • Reservations cancelled less than 3 weeks prior to arrival will result in the forfeiture of entire deposit
  • Cancellations made within 1 week of stay will be charged for the entire requested reservation
  • Weekly rentals in July and August require a 50% deposit and a 4 week notification of cancellation


PET POLICIES  

  • Please bring your pets bedding & crate, as they are NOT allowed on furniture or the beds, you will be charged a $50.00 cleaning fee if we find pet hair on the beds or furniture. We have supplied this cottage with a vacuum cleaner, a lint roller and an OXO Furlifter to help you clean up after your pet.
  • All pets should be kept on a leash, walked regularly, and you must clean up after them no matter where they "go" on property
  • Pets should never to be left outside or on the decks or screen porches when you are gone
  • If your pet sheds, be sure to clean up after them regularly
  • Pet owners will be responsible for any damage caused by their pets
  • Do not forget to bring your pet's vaccination records in case of emergency. Bring your pets food from home, as it is easier on your pet if you don't suddenly switch brands. Please bring their food & water bowls, a leash, and their favorite toy


WEDDING POLICIES    

  • You must rent all the cottages for your specific dates (weekly in July & August or 2 night minimums otherwise)
  • One person must be designated as the wedding coordinator/planner to facilitate communications between the bride & groom and our office. You must make sure your party is aware and complies with Sweethaven Resort’s general policies, (as listed on our web site) especially the one about no noise after 10pm
  • There is an additional fee of $1000.00 to have your event on property
  • You are required to pay for the rental of the tent, chairs, porta potties, etc
  • Maximum number of people allowed to any event is 125
  • We will supply, electricity, places to park, up to 15 tiki torches (if needed), white string lights for the tent and up to 2 chandeliers.
